SS: Tell us about yourself and your lovely blog!!
I started Show Me Your Diamond as a way to share my story.
I had sort of lost my way in life.. I was really unhappy in my job, was
abusing my body and mind with junk food, cigarettes, and alcohol, and I
started suffering from anxiety and panic attacks.
I didn't want to live my life this way anymore.
So, I made some changes.
I started eating for nourishment, moving my body more and I did a lot of
Its been a big shift for me and I wanted to share my journey, and all
sides of it.. To hopefully inspire people but mostly for anyone who may
be going through something similar.
For someone to read my post, resonate with it, and no longer feel so
alone- that is why I blog- for that connection.
SS: What inspired you to become a Coach?
I want to help people!
I know what its like to be in a dark place and have experienced those
feelings of isolation, loneliness, and disconnection.
I know how it feels when your unhealthy habits seem to have a hold on
you and no matter how hard you try, or how much you want it, you just
cant seem to break free.
I've been there and I'm living proof that its totally possible to change
your life for the better and become the very best version of yourself.
I coach because I want to make that journey to self a little bit easier
and help navigate a smoother path for anyone in need.
SS: What blogging challenges have you faced? What did you do ( or are
you planning to do) to overcome them?
I've always been one to write when inspiration hits and if I put a deadline on myself, it quashes my creativity. If I tell myself I have to have a blogpost up every Wednesday, it becomes constrictive and uninspired. So I decided to just let that structure go. Consistency doesn't work for me in that way.
I've found my readers resonate with the posts that hit me in the middle of the night, the ones that I scrawl out on whatever I can find, in a burst of creative madness! That's where I find my true words and that is how I blog. Consistently writing from a place of openness and flow.. now that I can do!
SS: Any advice for bloggers just starting out?
Find your voice.
Brain and heart storm all that it is you are passionate about!
Explore the topics and themes that light you up, or grind your gears,
and write about that.
Passion and purpose are key.
As long as you are honest, and truly believe in your message, that
energy will shine through.
Your words and your blog will become a thing of raw beauty and people
will want to be a part of it.
SS: What are your blogging goals for 2015?
2015 for Show Me Your Diamond is all about..
+ Sharing more of myself with my readers, opening up and trusting them
with my vulnerability, and being there for them in return.
+ Exploring new topics, learning about things that fascinate me, and
bringing all those experiences and energy into my blog.
+ Writing more poetry and getting my words out into the world in a BIG
+ Going deeper and creating a haven of support, fresh ideas, and
(always) loads of compassion.
